Thanks to @thegwood08 I had tyre flips on the menu, with serious forearm DOMS the next day... But that's another story. Engaging my posterior chain, this puts tremendous pressure on your pelvic floor and core. If you've not got the core strength to do this, don't attempt it, especially if you are newly post natal, or even "nearly forgot I had kids post natal" don't start here! A kettlebell deadlift is a perfect alternative, with a low weight (these are 8kg) starting with the suitcase version, moving onto the kb in front, exhaling back to standing and engaging your pelvic floor. Try to avoid pens from @priority6theocmethod too 😂😂 #starthere #buildthechain #dontbreakthechain #whatsyourbalance #personalbalance #personaltraineroxford #personaltrainerabingdon #crossfitmoms #crossfitmums #girlsthatlift #wolfpackgainz #wolfpack #pelvicfloor #holisticcorerestore #sneezepee #postnatal #postpartum #mumfit #busymum

I'm working on my toes to bar, which includes strict knees to elbow and kipping knees to elbow. You can see in the first clip even with the kip, you need a lot of core strength to get into that position. If you're coming back to Crossfit or just wanting to get back into fitness after having a baby, this is not the place to start. The second clip shows a really powerful alternative and really works the core when using the exhale on the pull down... Try it and see for yourself #starthere #buildthechain #dontbreakthechain #whatsyourbalance #personalbalance #personaltraineroxford #personaltrainerabingdon #crossfitmoms #crossfitmums #girlsthatlift #wolfpackgainz #wolfpack #pelvicfloor #holisticcorerestore #sneezepee #postnatal #postpartum #mumfit #busymum #gottastartsomewhere

Fridays workout was all about squat cleans....A great place to be... But not a great place to start, especially if you have a weak core or are newly post natal The second clip is a much better place to start...kneeling kettlebell clean, only 8kg, but allowing me to use the momentum of standing to get that kb up into the clean position without too much pressure on my core, whilst maintaining my intra-abdominal pressure #starthere #buildthechain #dontbreakthechain #whatsyourbalance #personalbalance #personaltraineroxford #personaltrainerabingdon #crossfitmoms #crossfitmums #girlsthatlift #wolfpackgainz #wolfpack #pelvicfloor #holisticcorerestore #sneezepee #postnatal #postpartum #mumfit #busymum

Lunch: some chilli salmon, stir fry veg and omelette strips (pretentious way of saying I gave the the baby egg for the 1st time and incorporated the leftovers into my lunch) Started back at Barbell classes this morning, unsurprisingly squat snatch was none existent. Snatch 25 Clean & Jerk 32.5 Front Squat 37.5 It's a start, I suppose. #CrossFit #CrossFitMums #Snatch #CleanAndJerk #FrontSquat #LookingForMyStrength #PostPartumFitness #PostPartumLifting #6MonthsPostPartum #CSectionRecovery #CSection #Lunch #WhatIAteToday #Paleo #BabysNotPaleoBeforeYouStart #AlthoughISupposeSheIsByDefault #BabyLedWeaning

Are you #postnatal #mum who likes #crossfit ? Check out this post from a colleague of mine @viviennerounsley Lately there have been quite a few videos of mums, as early as 3 weeks post natal going back to full on training, which in turn raised some concerns. It might be looking great now, but in a long term pelvic & core health = does it worth the risk? @Regranned from @viviennerounsley - Fridays workout was all about squat cleans....A great place to be... Comment from Maz Pedersen:

TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY 💫 I’m totally shitting myself sharing this as I’m not really one for posting too many selfies and definitely not ones without my shirt on 😱 BUT I need to share a little bit of my journey as it might help someone else who feels stuck or stagnant. In April 2017 I decided that enough was enough. I was so sick and tired of not being able to find my strength again, not being able to run without my pelvis screaming for days, struggling to pick up my kids. The list goes on.... After having twins 4 years ago my pelvis was shattered, my core was non-existing and I had lost so much muscle and strength. The funny thing is that it was never due to lack of exercising or eating shitty food. It was simply not doing the right exercises the right way and also not eating enough! This photo is me today (yes I know still plenty of love handles to target 😂). If you swipe across you will see me exactly 1 month ago. Massive difference and the only thing I have changed is my diet! I have been training hard 5-6 days a week at @themovementsouthwest since April but in December I felt that I had stalled in my progress. I caught up with coach @shelbywalsh and she completely changed my diet around. Not what I was eating as I was already eating super healthy foods, but the proportions of my macros. I was actually not eating anywhere near enough. 3.5 kg lost in a month but more importantly look at the different me! I feel so much stronger and have been hitting PBs all week in my lifts and my body feels like it’s getting the right fuel. Oh dear now the scary part 🙈 If you swipe further you’ll see where I was at in April. Thank goodness I found @themovementsouthwest - my life is so much richer and happier. I feel so good in my own skin and I’m enjoying lifting heavy shit 💪🏻 Biggest shoutout to my coach @caldfoster for programming the perfect training for me. Nothing beats individualised training to target your weaknesses. It’s easy to work on what you are good at but leave the ego at the door and trust your coach to work on the things you are shit at 👊🏻 Pretty pumped for the year ahead - ready to kick some more goals! #strongnotskinny
