MOVIE REVIEW: Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri - #Repost @louloureviews ・・・ In this darkly comic drama, a mother personally challenges the local authorities to solve her daughters murder, when they fail to catch the culprit. Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri is a great movie with a bad name. Martin McDonagh walks the fine line between comedy and drama extremely well here. At some points I was laughing out loud and in the next scene I had goosebumps, and sometimes both at the same time. All the perfomances are exceptional but Frances McDormand gives one of her best performances and Sam Rockwell isnt getting the recognition I believe he deserves as he has my favorite character arc in the film, expect nominations for them both. As for negatives I dont really have much. Even though the story was engaging the first act didnt draw me in as well as I had expected and while the comedy and drama mix well for the most part, there were a few times when it didnt work for me and it felt a little awkward. Ive seen a few reviews saying that Three Billboards is the best movie of 2017 but it never hit that high for me. Its great for sure but it didnt completely blow me away. It has award worthy performances, genius writing, and powerful at times. 8/10 #threebillboardsoutsideebbingmissouri #francesmcdormand #samrockwell #woodyharrelson #moviereview #filmcritic #filmfan #cinema

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is a model blend of sullen humor and richly engaging drama, boasting dark, unexpected turns and timely social commentary, all in a very distinctive fashion. Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell's performances effectively carry this cleverly written black comedy from beginning to end. Art house at its finest. 🎥 . . . #threebillboards #threebillboardsoutsideebbingmissouri #film #movies #movienight #cinema #arthouse #arthousefilms #indiefilm #oscarbait #theater #movietheater #movieposter #movie #moviegoer #filmbuff #oscarrace #localbusiness #maine #brunswick #brunswickmaine #eveningstar #eveningstarcinema #foxsearchlight #indiefilm #independentfilm #francesmcdormand #woodyharrelson #samrockwell

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri One of the best movies I've seen all year. I already liked filmmaker Martin McDonagh after In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths, but this is the highlight of his directorial career. I'm a huge fan of dark comedies, so seeing how amazingly this movie blended its cynical humor with deeply compelling and moving drama, made it an incredible watch. An Oscar nomination for Best Actress is a pretty safe bet for Frances McDormand, who owns this role and makes it one of the best she's literally ever done, and that includes Fargo; she has such a wonderful combination of heartbreak, determination and pure fucking savagery that made this film so relatable and enthralling. Another awards contender, for sure, would be Supporting Actor for Sam Rockwell, giving one of his best performances as the immature asshole of a deputy, who isn't as one-dimensional as he would let on; Woody Harrelson was fantastic, and the supporting players, mainly John Hawkes and Peter Dinklage were all awesome in giving these otherwise standard midwest characters added heft, humanism, humor and insight into even the most grim of circumstances. This is like someone spliced a Tarantino script with some Coen Brothers flavor, it is just so well written. I absolutely loved this movie. #ThreeBillboardsOutsideEbbingMissouri #francesmcdormand #samrockwell #martinmcdonagh #woodyharrelson #johnhawkes #peterdinklage #darkcomedy 5 out of 5! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
