(T.Coote, 2018. 22 February) For people that know me, getting my body into shape and starting to be healthy again is what has driven me for the last 9 months and i have no shame in showing my body. It might not be defined/big/muscley but it's gonna get there one day. Continous preparation, eating healthy, sweating my balls off to hit the last rep has all been for the growth of my body and my self esteem. And I'm nowhere near done, so I've decided to put my body out there to show that with the right tools, the right attitude and with the right friends and family you can achieve whatever you believe in. So far it's been 9 months but thank you to everyone who has helped me, but the journey is not over. I will grow stronger. As my bodybuilding idol Steve Cook says 'Last Set, Best Set'. Tonight I decided to try out @mason_woodruff’s minute protein brownies! So quick and easy! I thought it would be weird since the base is pumpkin, but it’s perfect! I added peppermint extract to it (a little too much 🙈🤷‍♀️) and topped it with mint chip @halotopcreamery, @reddiwip and chocolate syrup! Your goal isn’t just to gain weight, but to build muscle - am I right? 
If so, then you must stop eating everything in sight, pounding down protein shakes like they’re water, and training 5-6 days per week. 
Instead, focus on achieving a slight caloric surplus made up of the right macronutrient distribution – 0.8g per pound of bodyweight in protein, 0.5g per pound of bodyweight in fats, and allot the remaining calories to carbs. Eating enough to grow, however, isn’t enough to get you packing on muscle mass. 
This is why it’s important that we’re training consistently – preferably full body workouts 3x per week – and focusing on progression. As long as you’re getting stronger (while, of course, supplying your body the necessary nutrients to build muscle tissue) you’ll grow.
