Squats videoed here did several sets with lighter weight but no fun to watch right ? So we did 3 wheels a side ten plus reps then moved to 4 wheels a side then four wheels plus a quarter. Not a fan of bathroom selfies , just something about them blah. But the gym was packed and I had a good freaky pump going so it was selfie worthy😉 I’ll give you a sample of an arm routine .. I repeat I do not really count sets nor reps on any exercise , I will not move on until the blood has flowed to each head of the biceps. This sounds silly to a novice but hear me out. Subjectively speaking, preachers hit the lower insertion point of the biceps for me. Straight bar curl hits all heads for me. Reverse forearm hits bicep brachialis for me. I will keep pumping until all of these areas I feel fill out , in between sets I will do isometric static holds ten secs to further push blood. So it’s silly to put 4 x 10 preacher. You might of not fully exhausted or pushed all the blood by the fourth set, it’s very instinctual and you must keep going to cause growth. I hope this puts a different view on growing arms/muscle. Today was a heavy day which I incorporate on a need to basis and revolves around a specific diet for the day as well in order to illicit the desired response I’m looking for. In this pic, I’m curling 135 pds somewhat heavy, heavy to your avg gym enthusiast. I incorporate heavy movements to get dense muscle , if you notice one can see the density in my tissue . High volume will not build dense muscle, it will give it shape, tone, some roundness but not a dense granite look. You can’t do heavy movements all the time, it’s too hard on the nervous system and physical part of the connective tissue. I highly recommend incorporating heavy movements into your routine and really focusing on the eccentric portion to take advantage of the tears. With proper diet the fibers will utilize the amino acids and proteins to rebuild and make them thicker. Here is the kicker, if your diet is not superfluous in protein and fats, it will break down existing tissue in order to repair. Defeats the whole purpose when gaining! Some believe in using insulin sensitizers post workout to shuttle nutrients to the tissue. Carbs will restore the glycogen, do not consume fats post workout w/ carbs. Stacks on stacks .. this was actually light I was disappointed but repped the hell out of it. Good back day did few new movements since in a new gym, should see new growth. There is something called the repeated bout effect , google it if you don’t know what it means. If I didn’t know something I looked it up and it forced me to retain that info you should do the same and make a habit of learning something new daily. Yeah yeahhhh 🤣 nothing like Lil Jon screaming in your over the ear headphones plus a good pre will definitely ignite any workout... ok in all seriousness if your rear delts look like they have been shot off in the Third World War move them to the beginning of the workout when you are at your freshest.. rear delt flyes are a great way to isolate this area however you must pull with your elbows and scapula, your hands are only hinges for this movement. I know I’m using the whole stack but I stack weights on weights just do as I say and not as I do. This is light to me but you need to find a weight that allows you to move like a piston w/o relaxing the muscle. I like doing 4-5 sets, don’t leave this machine until your delts are pumped with blood , I’m serious or you are just setting yourself up for disappointment. The goal for thick , round delts is to have each head hypertrophied and exaggerated.
